Narrative
Home-based ABA
In the home environment, we work on improving a client’s independence with daily routines by targeting a variety of skills including self-help, language, social and leisure skills. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work together with the client’s family to assess needed skills, as well as challenging behaviors that interfere with learning, to help foster more adaptive repertoires. To that end, we also offer parent training to support families and caregivers in order to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients. Direct services are delivered by a trained Behavior Technician. Each client’s individualized program is designed and supervised by a BCBA regularly.
Early Intervention
We are contracted with many Early Intervention programs across Massachusetts and provide ABA services to young children ages 0 to 3. This begins with a referral from your EI program assigned to your area. We will work with the EI service coordinator throughout the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) process including assessing the child, developing a treatment goals and providing direct services including consultation to the family or other caregivers to promote a comprehensive approach to therapy. Our services are delivered within the child’s natural environment, often the home or a day care setting.
Intensive Intervention Program
Boston Behavior Learning Centers is pleased to offer comprehensive, center-based ABA services in a highly structured setting to young children up to the age of 6 years. Children will participate in one to one intensive behavior intervention with the support of a Behavior Technician to foster the generalization of skills across different people and contexts. BCBAs are on-site to supervise and monitor each child’s program. We target many areas of the child’s development including language, socialization, play and self-help skills including toilet training. Parents are invited to participate in consultation services with the child’s BCBA at our center to observe their child’s program, discuss management of care as well as carry over of skills to the home environment. These services are offered between 8 a.m and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Newton.
Social Enrichment Program
Our Social Skills program focuses on teaching our clients the critical social skills that they may not learn independently within their natural environment at home or school. In our groups, we are able to give our clients the opportunity to learn social skills in a structured, yet natural environment, among well-matched peers. Our social skills programming may include a variety of instructional strategies that fall under the ABA umbrella. All social skills groups are lead by trained Behavior Technicians and supervised by a BCBA. The goal is that these learned skills will then be utilized adaptively into their everyday lives, across all settings. These services are offered in the afternoons and Saturdays in both Newton and Canton.
